I’ve already told them many times, but they haven’t yet changed. They are still saying they will change gradually. No, if you change, everything else will naturally change, right? The situation changes, the government changes, everything changes. Because when the country’s atmosphere changes, everything else will change too. […] That’s why the important thing is that we have to cultivate ourselves. If we can’t change someone, then we change ourselves. After we change ourselves, we may influence other people naturally. Then those other people will influence additional people, and then the new people will influence even more people! […]

Hey, you have some translation or not? Good for you! The Chinese are sitting there drooling! I said it’s funny that you Chinese are drooling over there. I just said one sentence, and you are so joyful. The other comrades were more pleasant because those comrades had been craving. Some of them got initiated seven or eight years ago but don’t know my face (never met). Only this time they could come. Here they could come, but other countries they could not come. I told them that’s enough... they came here and cried all over, see that? (Yes, they cried so much yesterday.) Crying so much, even more than the Aulacese (Vietnamese) comrades, right? Because they are the elders, they have to do better in everything. They have to cry much more, have to yell louder, and have to ask more nonsense. That’s why I had to scold them louder and more often. So I scold the Aulacese (Vietnamese) only a little bit because you are the younger ones. Scolding you a lot is wasteful, isn’t it?

OK, I guess you won’t ask anything, right? (Right.) You came here just to tickle me for fun. What? (Dear Master, I have an envelope from Phượng Vũ in Los Angeles, which he asked me to give to You.) My God! He sent it here. I met him just a few days ago. How come he is so romantic? Only a few days, and he already misses me. Oh, man! Is there money inside? I only care about money, not love. (There is love inside, Master.) There is love in here, huh? (Yes.) But no money, huh? OK, does anyone want to have this? We cannot use love, right? People suffer because of love, not money, right? Oh wow! Ah, hmm... Wow! He recorded; he made this by himself? He recorded for fun, right? Whoa, so interesting! “Sing at the back, please sing at the back.” My God, I wonder why he had to send it all the way here. Ah, thank you. Oh man, so much effort. Isn’t that so?

Ah, he already wrote the lyrics here – that’s very convenient. I don’t know how to sing this. I don’t know how to sing these songs. OK, we can listen to it later because we don’t have a CD player here. Well, you can imagine what this sounds like because there is no CD player today. Thank you. Busybody. Do you know this guy, Phượng Vũ? A musician. (Yes.) Yeah, his daughter sang for me –Phượng Vũ’s daughter. I guess his daughter and wife sang together because his wife was standing behind: “Á à ha há ha,” as a backup voice. Do we have any famous singers here? Singing with a rooster voice. Yes? Is there any musician or singer who came here? No? I heard that the artists over there admire me very much.

From there, it’s $500, so how many months does it take to earn that much? You look like a rich lady, so maybe you can make that much in two hours? So how did you get the money to come here? My God, so expensive! My God, I was startled when I heard that. Oh my, oh man! How come it is so expensive? Âu Lạc (Vietnam), right? (Yes.) Yeah. Is anyone’s view blocked? All of you can see, right? Can you see? (Yes, I can.) Whoever’s view is blocked can come up and sit around here; there is a little space. On the outside there – only four people will fit. Four persons only. If you can see from where you are, then don’t come up. The ones whose view isn’t blocked, don’t come. These people, come to sit up here. Quickly, only four people, just those whose view is blocked. Because if a lot of you sit there, then you’ll block the camera.

That’s enough, OK, OK. Enough! Go sit on the other side; just sit over there. Done. OK. OK. Alright, if you sit like that, you’ll block other people, then it would be the same. My God! (You have to sit on this side.) Huh? It’s OK. Are you afraid he will bite you? It doesn’t matter how much; there isn’t enough. OK. No matter how much, it’s not enough. Those who can’t see should stand up. The ones who can’t see stand up. I speak Aulacese (Vietnamese), and you don’t understand? Whoever can’t see me (Chị Hai = “Big/Second Sister”), you stand up – to see “Third Sister.” Oh, there’s no problem with these people. They have seen me many times before. Yeah, if you see me all the time, then it’s OK. I thought they just came from Âu Lạc (Vietnam). OK.

So, do you need anything? Are there any questions? No? This girl is not new – a long time already! OK. Are you working happily in Âu Lạc (Vietnam)? Is work OK? OK means jobs are available, but probably not that many, right? (Whoever is able to work can do it.) Whoever wants to work can? Does that mean there is freedom? (Yes, it is a lot better than before, Master.) Oh, it’s better. I told the comrades already to be a little more liberal, and the comrades said OK. I advised them already, said, “Hes (God) sent you down here to play for a while, but you played for too long. Are you kidding?” In the worldly theatre, there must be joy, anger, love, and sorrow. Occasionally, it is happy; other times, it’s sad, and I said, “You can play for some time, but you played for so many decades.” I said, “You continue acting out the old drama – so boring! It’s time to change the show.” But many people can’t change their behavior quickly. Because if someone has always been a comic actor and we tell them to change to a crying role, they would not cry easily, right? And for those who’ve always played a crying role, if would be difficult for them to act comically. That’s why things change slowly.

We have to change the drama gradually, change actors and actresses, right? But eventually, you have to change because it’s so boring to play the same role. Crying all the time is boring, isn’t it? If we go see an Aulacese (Vietnamese) modern folk opera, and they keep crying from the beginning to the end, we would be bored, ask for our money back and go home, right? That’s why modern folk opera performances normally have different kinds of actors and actresses. There are sweet actresses, mean actresses, mean actors, handsome actors, ugly actors... Then, there are various comedians. There are stupid roles, flattering roles, good and bad roles, all sorts of roles, right? That way, we can change the mood of the play and have fun mixing those roles. Because if a modern folk opera only has toxic characters, nobody will tolerate it, right? Or if they only have comedians, the audience will get tired. We should have this and that role. That’s why it’s boring if people keep acting in the same play over and over again. So I said, “Change the play.” I told them all the time, but they haven’t changed yet.

As I’ve already said, I’m the number one “communist”! Yeah, is that not so? (Yes.) If I have money, then I share it with others for them to spend, so that is communism already. As for my home, anyone can come – see that? No one says anything to anyone. Nobody asks, “Why did you come here?” Right? (Yes.) When you come, we see you and recognize you right away; no need to ask. I’m the number one “communist”, and I’ve already told Uncle Hồ (Hồ Chí Minh). I said, “I am Auntie Hải here. We know each other already, so don’t talk bad behind my back. Auntie Hải is bigger than Uncle Hồ. Why don’t you listen to me?” Because Hải (ocean) is bigger than Hồ (lake), and hồ (lake) is quite small. Every lake eventually has to flow to the ocean, right? (Yes.) If there were no ocean, then all the lakes would be dry.

I’ve already told them many times, but they haven’t yet changed. They are still saying they will change gradually. No, if you change, everything else will naturally change, right? The situation changes, the government changes, everything changes. Because when the country’s atmosphere changes, everything else will change too. For example, when the Sun rises, how can the night stay? When summer comes, then how can winter interfere anymore, right? So if we cleanup and organize our home, then how can ants or insects come in anymore? After we’ve cleaned up, we plug any holes and sweep all the waste and rubbish out. Then how can insects and other animals come in, right? Those animals, such as mice and cockroaches, are looking for rubbish and dirty places. And if the house is clean, then there will be none of those animals, for example.

That’s why the important thing is that we have to cultivate ourselves. If we can’t change someone, then we change ourselves. After we change ourselves, we may influence other people naturally. Then those other people will influence additional people, and then the new people will influence even more people! Ah, naturally, things will change. No need to pray or to curse any bad government or any bad regime or that they have to go away. No need. No need, right? (Yes.) For example, this rod is short. Now, we don’t need to cut it; we just put a longer rod next to it, and then it will look short. No need to cut. In our life, when we become better, all the bad things will just have to leave because they cannot live together with the good, right? OK, finished. You should look at me till you are satisfied and make it worth $500. Is it worth the money?

Why do you come so many times? I am not an actress or anything, so why do you come here to see me? If it were a modern folk opera, then you could come and see it, but there is nothing here. You come here to sit. At home, you have a roof to protect you from rain. Coming here, you stay in the tent and still satisfied. Luckily, there is no rain. If it rains, you will be wet like a wet mouse-person. Here, when it rains, the water rises high. Sometimes, it can reach up here where we sit. Do you remember Cambodia? Did anyone go to Cambodia? OK. We sat in the “river,” in the “ocean,” and we “played,” remember? (Yes.) It is similar here because the land here is low.

My God! Coming here from the US costs $500, and from Âu Lạc (Vietnam) also costs $500. Oh, man! They charge like cutting the nose, cutting the ears – so expensive! Then how much does it cost to fly from Âu Lạc (Vietnam) to the US? Also $500? Huh? (Five hundred-something [dollars].) Five hundred-something. (Yes.) How come the cost from Âu Lạc (Vietnam) to here is $500 and something? Are the two prices equal? (It was $656.) From Âu Lạc to here cost $656? (Yes.) Round-trip ticket? (The travel service took care of it.) The travel service took care of the total price? Not just the plane fare? (Yes, the service took care and earned their commission.) Ah, they earned a commission. But how come the commission was too much? (I searched but could not find it.) This is not a “hoa hồng” (commission/rose) but a “golden flower,” love. This is a “golden flower,” not a “rose.” How come a “rose” costs that much? One rose costs only $1. But this is a golden flower, and real gold. It’s at least a silver flower, not a rose! Oh man, too expensive. How many months you have to work to earn that much?

(I can come and sit here, then I am happy already, Master.) I’m so sorry, but it’s better than if you could not come here. (Yes.) People often say, “Whatever it costs, as long as I can go.” (Yes, that’s right, Master. I am very happy.) But they trust you and let you go without any guarantees? (Lucky. Master guaranteed, thanks to Master.) Now you are free? (Yes.) If you can go, you go? (If God allows, then we…) Huh? (If Master allows, then we can go.) Whoever can go, then go. (Yes. If Master allows, then we can go.) Oh, yeah. (I’m 80 years old. I kept praying to Master on my way here.) Eighty, and you still can practice spiritually? OK. I’m happy for you. I am happy for you. Over there, now you all probably can speak Chinese and English, right? You watch my tapes, and then you know how to say everything. You know how to say “OK” and all that? “No problem,” right? “Number one, number two, number 10,” right?
