Baha'u'llah was born in 1817 in Tehran, Iran. He was the enlightened Prophet and founder of the Baha'i Faith. The Baha'i Faith rests on three core principles: unity of God, unity of religion, and unity of humankind. The physical center of the Baha'i faith, which consists of the Shrine of Baha'u'llah, is the Baha'i World Center, near Akka. The Shrine of Báb and its beautiful World Heritage gardens are in Mount Carmel in Haifa. Baha'u'llah instituted a supreme governing body - “Universal House of Justice” and the procedure of how that should be elected.
